Wheels to Work Clackmannanshire (W2W Clacks)

Clackmannanshire Economic Regeneration Trust (CERT) has established an innovative programme to help unemployed people to secure jobs that they would not otherwise be able to get to due to being unable to travel to a job, training or education. 

W2W Clacks will hire an emoped to those who have a job.  The hire will be no longer than 12 months, and not less than 1 month. 

To be eligible, you must be: 

• A resident of Clackmannanshire 

• 16 years plus.  If you are under 18 you require permission from a parent or guardian 

• Unemployed but with an offer of work 

• Unable to get to this job without an emoped 

• Have a provisional driving licence 

• Completed a Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) course 

• Have appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including a helmet, gloves, waterproof trousers, hi vis jacket and boots. 

Financial support may be available to secure the PPE and CBT.

You will hire the emoped from W2W Clacks (CERT) and we will provide you with: 

• An emoped of 50cc or 125cc 

• Insurance covering third party and fire 

• A security chain lock   

• We will maintain the emoped 

You are responsible for: 

• A refundable deposit of £100 

• Paying rental of the emoped.  This will be paid by standing order and fixed to when you are paid – either weekly or monthly 

• Paying any excess in relation to any insurance claim made.  £250 per incident 

• The cost of the emoped if it is stolen and you have not appropriately secured it 

About the emopeds: 

• Cannot be used on motorways 

• You can not have pillion passengers 

• You must drive with L plates. 

• You cannot allow anyone else to use the vehicle 

• You must secure the emoped at all times when  you are not using it 

• They are electric and have detachable batteries than can be removed and used to recharge from a normal household plug.  3 to 4 hours.
